The plow blades fit tightly against the belt to discharge materials into the hopper. Upon completion, the actuator retracts, raising the plow heads to top dead center standby position and lowering the impact bed. The belt returns to conveying status as the variable idlers switch from flat to troughed, allowing material to pass smoothly.
